& Info Roundtable Discussion Topic: "The JOHN MARK SYNDROME" Acts 15:37 What do you do when two apostles disagree???... Sounds like Modern day church to me! This is a general Session - everyone is welcome to join in.
![]() ![]() The Apostle.... The Evangelist... The Pastor... They "let us down"... they "sinned & fell short".... they committed adultery, they stole money, lied etc... Now what? I Cor. says to "expel the immoral man from among you... but in II Cor. he says restore? How do we do that? The theme of this conference is "The 11th Hour in the Vineyard". Many have said they are called to shepherd the 11th hour laborers. (Please see our conference Main page link to "the Purpose") Many of them will be the "public failures" of modern day Christianity. What will you do? Are they "washed up"? Who decides? What does the bible say? What do you say? What does your church say? . The Teacher. You heard they were "off"....
How much time was spent talking about it? How much time praying??.... we will NOT agree, but we MAY just expand our minds and consider some things we have not yet allowed to come into our thoughts regarding grace, the law etc... The Prophet... do you know
one who "fell"?? God wants him back...Barnabus & Paul (Barnabus was Paul's disciple and spiritual son) separated over whether John Mark is fit to be taken with on a journey due to his past failure and abandonment of the team. Acts 15:37 What do you do when two Apostles Disagree?? .... Sounds like modern day church to me! Though Paul later called for John Mark saying he was "good for his ministry" (2 Tim. 4:11, Col. 4:10), there was a time of estrangement in their relationship. Who was right - Paul or Barnabas? The bible never said. Maybe it was neither? ![]() Why do we believe what we believe? * Is it biblical to "distance yourself" from other members of the body? * When a Kingdom member is struggling - who "needs" to know? Why? * What will happen to you if you are "associated" with someone who "fell", ..."is falling", "you heard is falling", you disapprove of? * Should you be part of a meeting or fellowship they are in? *Will that "defame" your reputation? *Should you "have" a reputation? * When is it time to come back in relationship? * Who decides? *Are we judge and juror? * If not "us", then "who"? * Is the internet really the proper venue? *Can you believe what you read? It should make for an interesting conversation... |
