Our ministry started when we were married in 1989, but Believers' Ministry International began in 1997 from Jeff having an open vision in Florida the same time I was having an open vision on the west coast in California. There was never really any discussion as to whether we were called into the apostolic ministry of church planting, equipping ministry, networking and pastoring after that. How do you argue with God? We surely did not ever even have such a thought cross our minds! It really wasn't that hard... we met in our garage, started to feel people in the inner-city of Fontana, CA. and enjoy people. From that it just all "happened"... it still goes on today in a variety of expressions through many folks who were touched by the sincerity of our hearts and decided to "do the same". Pretty amazing. God is pretty amazing. He will use anyone...including YOU :)
Through the years we had to wrestle with many questions from those who are truly "more superior" than us in the natural things of protocol and running a church. Those with doctorates in theology want to know our education, those who have missionary training from experts want to know how we got started in missions, those with years of experience under great prophets want to know why even our children prophesy and "who gave the permission", the great musicians of our region come through with a much better skill level than ours - yet God shows up and shows up big to touch people. The answer: We just read the bible and "went for it"! We think everyone should do the same. It will be the greatest adventure of their life.
Our smallest children prophesy, prophetically dance, have dreams and are bold enough to speak to any grown man about Jesus and His plan for their lives with great confidence. I can't tell you much about Jeff and I, but I can tell you about Jesus and a God who dwells in the midst of His people and walks with them moment by moment. He is a God that has broken our hearts that they may be open to reach those who have been broken. It is a joy and privilege to be "pastors" of Believers' Ministry International to some, "Apostles' to others and "oh god it is "them"!... to yet more could be said - good & bad. It is all a joy!
On a
personal note:
We are
blessed with a great marriage
and fully enjoy people from all
walks of life.
I don't have any advice for
single people "in waiting"
except that God's kids are not
hard up for a date!
When it all comes into alignment -
All Glory goes to Jesus -
because some of us can attest
that our choices aren't always
the best!
1989
Jeffrey Kirschbaum met Karie
Whitson.... and the rest is
history.... I was a member of
his mother’s church, Believers’
Ministry of Las Vegas with
Pastor/Evangelist Sandy Brown. A
mutual friend introduced them by
lying to each of them and saying
“there is this guy/girl who
really wants to meet you…” that
is where the adventure began!
It was a match that only
heaven could work out….and work
out it has. June 10th of 1989
began a very event-filled
marriage that has been
continually evolving as they
discover yet another area they
can use the “art of compromise”
to enrich their humorous
relationship.
Since then, We have raised two daughters, planted churches and traveled many nations to work alongside of a variety of friends and partners. What an honor.
Spiritual Kids.... Get out of their way!!
Our local expression of a church in California has spread out amongst our members. We no longer "Sr. Pastor" a church, but our International, national, speaking and worship ministry continues and keeps us very busy! In addition, many of our "spiritual children" have begun works of their own with their own expression of Jesus coming through them. We are so excited for them.
In the beginning of our ministry, we were their pastors, spiritual parents, mentors etc... but now we have to say that though we are the overseers of an amazing living ministry - we are co-laborers in the Harvest fields of the Lord. God has made them FLAMES of FIRE for His Glory. We are still privileged that they call us pastor, mentor etc... but it is the greatest privilege to call them friends. We love you guys.
A brief personal testimony
Jeff grew up in So. Cal. with two brothers and a sister. He was the middle child. He was a "good boy" who loved his parents and never wanted to disappoint them. He did a pretty good job.
He will tell you he was saved from "self righteousness". In his mind, he was a "good guy" and God would surely be happy to see him when he showed up.... thank goodness his brother persisted in sharing the free gift of salvation that is only obtained by the grace of God and faith in Jesus Christ!
I
(Karie) was saved in 1986
while living the typical
Vegas lifestyle. I had
already been married twice
and had a little girl,
Tawnie Mora, who was the
love of my life. A third
marriage was not on my
agenda. I was just happy to
find Jesus and feel the
freedom from “needing” a
man” or “needing a chemical”
to find my worth...God’s
WISDOM prevailed…
My Mom and I used to sing
Amazing Grace in the bars…
From that background of
honky tonk bars came a love
for music that is still in
our ministry today...except
now it is rocking for Jesus
with guitars, keyboards &
drums. The next
generation will do it even
better!
...and we lived happily
ever after.....
